Mightier Social Media

Mightier Social Media

Overview

Mightier is a game-based program that helps children build coping skills. Developed and tested at Harvard Medical School and Boston Children's Hospital, Mightier is clinically validated to help kids grow their emotional regulation skills and translate them to real life.

As Mightier sought to modernize and cohere their voice social media, I began working with them in 2024. The posts below are an example of a series that utilizes a variety of approaches—simple text and shape, illustration, and photo—but maintains a collective voice through color and tone.

Thinking Differently: Illustrating Emotions

For the comic style approach, I wanted to create no more than 4 panels that would seamlessly communicate the message even if the text was removed from the post. To start, I asked these questions:

• What does it feel like to think differently?

• What does it like to think differently?

• What does it feel like to be around someone who clearly thinks differently?

• What does it feel like when you find emotional/mental middle ground with someone who thinks different than you?

• Specifically, what does it feel like for a parent to find emotion/mental middle ground with their child?

• When a parent tries to make a difference by thinking differently—and succeeds—what does that breakthrough feel like? What does it look like?
