John Taylor Music

John Taylor Music

Overview

Branding for my husband, a singer/songwriter in Austin. As he pursues performance in the live music capital of the nation, the objective was to clearly communicate who John is as a creator in this saturated market. His music is nostalgic and free flowing, with strong Americana influence. With those feelings at the center, I arrived at this wordmark that is uniquely John.

Photography is not my specialty, but I do own a camera. When he needed some new photos, we went out to see what we could manage. I was thrilled (and surprised) with how these turned out!

Being married to your client is a great way to commit to building on a brand over several years. In 2023, I finally overhauled his website! Check out the fully interactive version below, or at johntaylor.rocks! 🤘

We commissioned Joey Gibson to make some lyric art for John's EP that we unfortunately didn't end up using. But when I saw how much swag he had given this lil' horseshoe, I knew it needed a home and asked if we could repurpose it. So John got stickers!

A musician's brand kit includes a "One Sheet", an electronic press kit that has everything a radio station, agency, or venue might need to understand who the artist is. For John, I made one to send to venues regarding booking, and one specifically for the release of his EP (for radio stations, etc).

The purpose of a "One Sheet" is to make yourself and your music as available as possible to those in the industry who look over dozens of new musicians each day. Particularly for independent artists, a good kit can make the difference. If you or someone you know is in need of an electronic press kit, contact me!
